Supervision with Katie
I'm Katie Western, the founder of Hope Therapies. As a part of my multidisciplinary practice, I'm excited to offer online clinical supervision for independent paediatric Speech & Language Therapists.
I offer a supportive and reflective space where you can explore not only your clinical work, but also your business development, personal well-being and how your life circumstances interact with your professional role.

My values
My supervision practice is underpinned by three core values.
Challenge
Stretching your practice, noticing blind spots and opening up space for growth.
Curiosity
Exploring new perspectives, deepening understanding.
Authenticity
An honest presence, creating openness of relationship.
Recognising you
I understand that you wear many different hats - clinician, business owner and individual. The supervisory space I create supports every aspect of your professional life.
As a clinician
A supportive space to:
-
reflect and learn
-
receive expert advice
As a business owner
A context to help:
-
build a sustainable work life balance
-
reduce risk of burnout
-
promote your overall well-being
As a person
Space to understand how your personal qualities, life circumstances and neurotype influence your clinical work and business ownership.
More about me
As a therapist, I have 17 years' experience working with children and young people across schools, nurseries, clinics and homes. I have specialist expertise in stammering (including adults), complex speech sound disorders and autism.
I have been running my own business for 5 years. When I began, I never thought I would run a multi-therapist practice! I have learnt so much along the way - not just about therapy or business ownership, but also about how these things interact with who I am.
That's why I offer a space in supervision where you can bring all of who you are and be met with curiosity, compassion and honesty.
I am passionate about providing neuro-affirming supervision. I am neurodivergent myself and also have extensive lived experience, with an autistic husband and three neuro-divergent children.
The supervisory space I create is deeply empathetic, but also honest and efficient. I always listen thoughtfully and work collaboratively, helping you to develop your therapeutic practice, your business and yourself!
