Occupational Therapist

“Since graduating I have worked in a variety of settings within schools and in the NHS, including adult mental health (acute, inpatient and community), Dementia services, Children’s Neurodevelopmental Service and the Mental Health in Schools Team. I love working with children and young people, and have lots of experience working with Autism and ADHD. I am a sensory integration (SI) practitioner and this knowledge underpins my practice. I also enjoy using creative and practical approaches, especially when addressing mental health difficulties such as anxiety and low self-esteem. I am confident in facilitating groups with young people to explore ways of managing anxiety, building resilience and regulating emotions. I also enjoy delivering parent and teacher workshops on topics such as sensory difficulties, ADHD and anxiety.”

Terri Deegan

Occupational Therapist

I qualified as an occupational therapist in 2016 and then as a sensory integration practitioner in 2021. The combination of the two qualifications has enabled me to develop the expertise to specialize in children and adolescent mental health, learning disabilities and autism, including sensory processing difficulties. I also have experience working with adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental health conditions. I am an advocate for child centred practice and am somewhat passionate about ensuring all interventions I deliver are purposeful and meaningful to the young people I work with. It is important to me to provide a high standard of quality care and support to young people to enable them to reach their full potential and to progress in reaching their goals.
